Annotations

Use Annotations to update financial statements in Word as per auditor comments supplied in a PDF.

The goal is to replace slow, error-prone manual updates with a controlled workflow: LedgerQ applies changes for you, and you review and approve them before they become final.

When To Use It

  • You need to reflect auditors’ comments in the financial statements with minimal manual effort.
  • You want updates to be consistent and complete, so no comment is missed and the risk of omission is reduced.
  • You want support from LedgerQ’s annotation workflow to interpret comments and apply them in line with financial reporting and formatting standards.

Step-by-Step

  1. Open your Word document that contains the draft financial statements to update.
You can download Word financial statements test file (to be updated as per annotations in the PDF).
PDF test file with audit annotations.

  2. In the LedgerQ ribbon, Account section, choose Sign in/Out to Sign in with your Microsoft credentials.

  3. In the LedgerQ ribbon, Tools section, choose Annotations.

  4. Select Import Document and choose the PDF that contains the auditors’ comments.

  5. Run Apply Annotations. Insertions and amendments appear in green; deletions appear with red strikethrough so you can scan changes quickly.

  6. In the task pane, review the summary of processed and unprocessed annotations.

  7. Review each change in the document and adjust wording or numbers if needed.

  8. When your review is finished, click Approve Changes. LedgerQ removes content shown with red strikethrough and sets accepted new text to the normal style (for example, black body text).

  9. Save the document when the process is complete.

info
